About the guest speakers: Julio César Linares is a community organiser and economic anthropologist born in the territories known today as Guatemala. He serves as Public Outreach for the Basic Income Earth Network (BIEN), and is the author of Decolonizing Money: The Promise of Abolishing the US Dollar (Pluto Press, 2026).
Brett Scott is a journalist, campaigner and former broker exploring the politics of money systems, finance and digital technology. He is the author of Cloudmoney: Cash, Cards, Crypto and the War for our Wallets (Penguin & HarperCollins, 2022) and The Heretic’s Guide to Global Finance: Hacking the Future of Money (Pluto Press, 2013).
