Often there are rumors that nurses don’t want to get vaccines. However, most nurses do get their vaccines – especially at a place like the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. We take care of some of the most vulnerable little humans, and nurses know vaccination is a way to keep their patients and their communities healthy.
Health care professionals are exposed to more sick people because of where they work. So, vaccination becomes an important part of staying healthy given their increased exposure to diseases.
Getting vaccinated also helps stop health care professionals from spreading preventable diseases to the patients and families they help care for. It’s a way for them to help make their community healthier.
Most health care professionals – including nurses – get vaccinated. It shows how much they care about science, health and community.
