Welcome to Volvo CE Belley.
Today I'd like to take you behind the scenes of our factory, where Volvo mini excavators under 6 tonnes are designed, tested and built.
Whether you're interested in a conventional compact excavator or an electric mini excavator, this is where many of the machines used by customers around the world begin their journey.
Here in Belley, France, more than 370 people work across engineering, prototype testing, purchasing, manufacturing, quality, training and customer experience. Having all these capabilities together on one site allows us to develop new ideas quickly and ensure every machine meets the high standards our customers expect.
As we walk through the factory, you'll see how steel components become finished machines ranging from 1.5-tonne mini excavators to 6-tonne compact excavators. Every machine passes through a carefully controlled production process before being tested and prepared for delivery.
Many customers search for the right machine based on the work they need to do. Some are looking for a 5-tonne excavator for utility work, others need a compact machine for landscaping, construction or urban projects where space is limited. Whatever the application, our goal is the same: to build machines that deliver productivity, reliability and operator comfort.
Belley also plays an important role in Volvo CE's electric journey. It was here that we pioneered our first electric mini excavators, the ECR25 Electric, and today our teams continue developing solutions that help customers reduce emissions and noise without compromising performance.
What makes Belley unique is that engineering, testing and manufacturing all happen here on one site. It means our teams can work closely together, solve challenges quickly and continuously improve our machines before they reach customers.
