Super big thanks to my friend, Ronnie, for being Wolverine.

For decades, Marvel kept Wolverine's origin a mystery. X-Men writer Chris Claremont thought it was imperative. Weapon X creator Barry Windsor Smith only addressed a small piece. But in 2001, one of Marvel's executives, Bill Jemas, decided they needed to tell the story. Paul Jenkins, Andy Kubert, and Richard Isanove pitched a take that Marvel liked and locked in an origin. Was it the right decision? It was controversial but in this episode I look at the comic, the environment around the comic at the time, and sales during and after the event.
