*Key Facts About the Masjid*
*The Founders:* The landmark Masjid was funded by the Issa Foundation, set up by the billionaire entrepreneur brothers Zuber and Mohsin Issa (founders of EG Group and owners of Asda). It was built as a tribute to their late father, Vali Issa.
*Design:* Designed by prominent British-Iraqi architect Atba Al-Samarraie, the architecture blends classic Middle Eastern and North African elements with local British materials.
*Capacity & Features:* The main prayer hall accommodates over 1,000 worshippers. It features dedicated spaces for men and women, an adjacent community centre, and holds the distinction of having the first mosque-based crèche and children's play area in Lancashire.
