There are officially three statewide issues on Washington's November ballot.
The first initiative certified for the November midterm would prohibit transgender girls from playing sports on girls' teams.
The initiative, if passed, would "require students to undergo a routine physical examination prior to participation in interscholastic sports, which includes documentation of the student's sex assigned at birth."
Supporters of the initiative said it would protect young girls from being on the same team as biological males; opponents argue the law would only further marginalize an already small group of student athletes.
