We're in Franklin, North Carolina for a family visit, and we packed in as much adventure as possible. We start with a waterfall run through the stunning Cullasaja Gorge — hitting Bust Your Butt Falls, Dry Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls — before exploring the charming mountain town of Highlands. Then we head to Andrews, NC for the Andrews Valley Rail Tour, where our motorized cart earns the nickname "party train" as we roll 4.8 miles of track into a hand-carved 130-year-old tunnel deep in the mountains. We wrap up the visit with a drive to Wayah Bald, a 5,300-foot summit with sweeping views stretching into Georgia, Tennessee, and both Carolinas.
