Its priceless treasures evacuated for safekeeping, the Wallace Collection briefly served as a stage for cultural diplomacy. Artists joined forces to support the Allied cause and raise funds for the Red Cross.
Opening on 15 April, our free display ‘The Wallace Collection at War’ uncovers this remarkable chapter in the museum's history, at the intersection of art and propaganda.
The display complements our major exhibition ‘Winston Churchill: The Painter’, which opens on 23 May.
