AV networks have fundamentally changed. The shift to AV-over-IP means every display, DSP, codec, and control processor is now an IP endpoint sitting on a shared network, and most of these devices can't run security agents. Yet the AV industry still designs and deploys networks with little to no cybersecurity consideration. The result is that AV infrastructure is becoming the soft underbelly of enterprise networks.
This session, led by Ayham Ereksousi, Sr Dir Product Line Manager, Security at NETGEAR Enterprise, addresses that gap head-on. We'll walk through the real-world security risks facing AV-over-IP deployments, from unpatched firmware on agentless devices to lateral movement across flat VLANs, and show how the industry needs to move from "air gapping is my protection" to true zero-trust segmentation. We'll then demonstrate a working prototype of security capabilities built directly into an AV network management platform.
The key takeaway for attendees: cybersecurity is no longer someone else's problem. It's becoming a procurement requirement and a differentiator for integrators. We'll give them a practical framework for how to think about security in their AV designs today, and a preview of where the tools are headed.
