Description
After weeks of boat projects, repairs, and preparation, we finally cast off the lines and begin our Bahamas adventure aboard Triton!
But before we point the bow toward the islands, there are still a few loose ends to tie up. We spend our last days in Florida polishing fuel, replacing a failed pump, installing a new turbo, testing systems, and making sure everything is ready for the journey ahead. Then we head south to Melbourne Beach for an overnight anchoring stop before tackling the Gulf Stream crossing.
Cruising to the Bahamas always sounds glamorous, but the reality is usually a mix of beautiful anchorages, unexpected repairs, and a never-ending list of boat chores. Fortunately, that's all part of the adventure.
