The Only Car I Never Got to Customize (Until Now) - Chips Picks

Description

Welcome back to Chip's Picks, brought to you by Hemmings Motor Club!

One of the highlights of today's episode is taking a look back at a car that inspired one of my favorite builds, the Speedbird. I built the Speedbird in the early 2000s, and it really changed the game, especially when it came to wheel design. Adding more depth to the wheels was something that hadn't really been done before, and it influenced the way a lot of builders approached custom wheels after that. Even more than 20 years later, it's still one of the builds I'm most proud of. If you've ever thought about building your own Thunderbird, head over to Hemmings.com and see what you can find.

We're also taking a look at a 1968 Pontiac Firebird, a 1960 Volkswagen Double Cab Pickup, and a 1980 Ford Pinto. The Pinto is a car I've always wanted to customize, but believe it or not, through all the years of Overhaulin', one never came through the shop. So if I've ever had the opportunity to build one, here's exactly how I would do it.
