The Dr. Sullivan and Mrs. Richie Jean Sherrod Jackson Home officially opened to the public in Greenfield Village on June 12, 2026. Here, the home will share the stories of a family and community at the forefront of the Voting Rights Movement with generations to come.

The Henry Ford's first major home acquisition in 40 years, the Jackson Home is both a family home and a national landmark. In this home, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Jackson family and other civil rights leaders helped shape the Voting Rights Movement and advance the passage of the landmark 1965 Voting Rights Act.

The Henry Ford is thrilled to welcome this new addition to the village, and we hope you will join us for a visit soon to experience the home for yourself.
