The Calvine UFO photograph is one of the most credible and mysterious UFO images ever investigated. But here’s what makes it truly terrifying: the photographer who took it vanished completely. Not a single trace. No social media. No family claim. No record.
In August 1990, two hikers in Scotland captured a series of six photographs showing a diamond-shaped UFO hovering in the sky, with a Harrier jet in the background. They handed the original print to the Daily Record newspaper, which immediately turned it over to the UK Ministry of Defence. The photo then disappeared for 32 years.
When it resurfaced in 2022, only one name was found on the back: Kevin Russell.
An intensive ten-month investigation contacted over 200 people named Kevin Russell across Scotland and beyond. Nothing. No one came forward. The only lead? A kitchen porter at the Pitlochry Hydro Hotel in 1990-91, who told colleagues he was from Glasgow or Falkirk. Then he vanished.
Was Kevin Russell abducted? Silenced by intelligence agencies? Or did he simply erase himself from history?
