In this fishing podcast I will discuss some of the things that lead to quality fishing reels breaking. Levelwind reels are the ones that usually get trashed the quickest, especially by folks that fish for catfish. These catfishing reels are subjected to things they are not designed for, and this can lead to a fishing reel breaking. What makes a fishing reel break? The biggest thing that makes a fishing reel break is applying more drag and pressure to the spool than what the fishing reel is designed for. This is how you break a quality fishing reel. I go over some of the common mistakes fishermen make that lead to broken reels. The most common way a fishing reel breaks is when people fish them in conditions and under pressure they are not made for.
