As a recent high profile case showed us all, and graphically, how dangerous a tactical folding knife is. Instead of getting wrapped up in all the politics of the case, we should all heed the biggest lesson and that is on the utility of the blade. Movies and martial arts demos have convinced people that a small blade is hardly better than a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for self-defense. Seriously. Most people seriously underestimate how effective a tool it is for self-defense. The reality is that once you’re trained to use it there’s hardly a better tool for you…including, yes, even a handgun.
