Derek from Beast Coast Fishing and I got out for a few days of filming and absolutely hammered quality smallmouth both deep and shallow on the Beast Coast Open Water Sniper Jig.
One thing we talked a lot about during filming was the rising cost of tungsten across the fishing industry. Due to supply and demand and the current economics behind tungsten production, prices have increased dramatically, and you’re seeing that happen industry-wide, not just with Beast Coast. That’s one reason we’ve spent the last couple years throwing the lead L-Metal version of the Open Water Sniper Jig so much, and honestly, it flat out works. It’s an incredible substitute for tungsten without sacrificing the performance, profile, hookup ratio, or the ability to fish efficiently around rock and heavy cover.
This is still, in my opinion, the best finesse smallmouth jig on the market. The sales have backed that up for years, and there’s a reason so many companies continue trying to duplicate the success of this jig. Between the premium BKK hooks, hand-tied skirt material, compact design, and the way it’s engineered specifically for fishing rocks and heavy cover, the Open Water Sniper Jig continues to put giant smallmouth in the boat year after year.
