Description
At the 2026 Spring Pigeon Forge Rod Run, I caught up with one of the most insane, no-compromise pro-touring builds on the planet: Angelo Vespi’s 1987 Buick Grand National, better known as the "GNXS."
Built by Paul Van Nus and the elite crew at Dutchboys Hotrods, this jaw-dropping machine was a natural pick for the 2026 ScottieDTV Dirty Dozen inside the LeConte Center! Fresh off winning the prestigious Goodguys PPG Street Machine of the Year, this build completely redefines what an '80s G-Body can be.
WHAT MAKES THIS BUILD LEGENDARY:
All-Metal Craftsmanship: Gone is the factory plastic trim—Dutchboys hand-fabricated the entire front end, bumper strips, and aggressive fender flares out of sheet metal and aluminum, finished in a flawless, mile-deep Black Glasurit paint.
1,400+ HP Monster: Under the hood, a Pro Mod-inspired twin-turbocharged 427ci Mast Motorsports LS7 V8 takes center stage.
Next-Level Detail: Features a fully custom Dutchboys chassis, Detroit Speed suspension, Greening Auto center-lug wheels, and a mind-blowing, 3D-printed custom leather interior by Avant Garde Design.
Check out my interview with Paul as he walks us through the incredible engineering, fabrication challenges, and sheer vision behind the ultimate sinister street machine!
