On this Thursday Hang I’m going to show you how to better understand the way that “Dorian” mode can be applied when both composing melody and also when soloing.
We’ll do this by focusing on two main ideas. One is all about the way the chords behave (within the context of Dorian mode).
And, the other is how the Dorian mode offers a change to the sixth degree note of our basic Minor scale.
Everything starts with an understanding of Natural Minor, so let’s dig into these ideas with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s favorite key; “G Minor.”
