Most guitarists memorize scales, but scales don’t automatically create melodies. Triads help you visualize the chord underneath the scale, making it much easier to create phrases that sound intentional instead of random.

In this lesson, I show you how to use three simple triad shapes to generate melodic ideas from a position you probably already know. Once you see how the chords fit inside the scale, you’ll stop guessing and start creating solos that actually follow the harmony.
