This is an engine from a Suzuki GT380 from the late 70's. It came to me for repair after its second hydro lock. The centre conrod and piston was destroyed. The failure was due to a leaking two stroke oil check valve, filling the crankcase and causing instant failure at start up. All new genuine pistons, rings etc were replaced.
I rebuilt the crankshaft also with all new bearings, I swapped the two stroke oil system with a very good used unit and fitted brand new OEM scavenger valves to the crankcase base to ensure it worked properly moving forward. These bikes are quite rare now so getting one fixed and back on the road was a good feeling,
