Description

Susiya, Masafer Yatta, 30.1.2026. An inhabitant tells how a couple of weeks earlier settler shepherds blocked the path of the Susiya children to school with stones. When boys cleared the stones settler soldiers came to his neighbor and demanded he tell them who had cleared the path. When he said he didn’t know they beat and abused him, threatening his wife with their guns. Another neighbor’s son was also arbitrarily beaten when he wouldn’t say who had cleared the path to the school.
Umm Al-Khair, 30.1.2026. When the Palestinian inhabitants of Umm Al-Khair in Masafer Yatta laid down artificial grass for their children’s football pitch, neighboring settlers retaliated by complaining to the police and attempting to block the village’s road, and attempting to tear up the new pitch. So far they have not been successful. Artist and activist Eid Suleiman Hathaleen speaks about this new struggle between the people of Umm Al-Khair and those seeking to drive them out of their homes.
Susiya, Harabat al-Nabi and Umm al-Khairare all under urgent threat of dispossession and displacement of their inhabitants as a result of Israeli government policy encouraging settlers to take over Palestinian land.
