Though Black Confederate soldiers existed, they did not fight by choice. They were forced.
In 1862, along a winding Georgia river, the front lines of both armies converge. Ordered by their cruel white officers to march into the cold black water first, Black Union soldier Isaiah Brooks and Black Confederate soldier Noah Carter find themselves face-to-face.
But they soon realize the river isn't hunting them. Blessed by Native American elders as a sacred sanctuary, and washed in the blood of those who died escaping chains, the water holds an ancient, terrifying secret. When the woods begin to sing... a monstrous reckoning begins.
