Description
The summer heat wave in SoCal continues 🌡️🥵, but there are countless ways our guests can keep cool while visiting the Zoo!
The L.A. Zoo has plenty of shaded areas to sit and relax, as well as air-conditioned indoor spaces to enjoy a refreshing beverage, ICEE, or ice cream treat. Guests are encouraged to bring their own water bottles to fill up at our many free water stations 🚰.
As for the animals? Many species are more temperature-tolerant than people realize, since they often live in hot conditions in the wild as well. The Zoo's Animal Care Team makes great efforts to provide the animals respite from the heat with delicious, nutritious ice treats. The animals also have the option to retreat to air-conditioned indoor spaces whenever they choose. Plus, habitats around the Zoo feature shaded spots, water features, and misters for ultimate comfort.
On your next visit to the L.A. Zoo, plan ahead, stay cool and hydrated, and have a blast connecting to nature and wildlife in the heart of Griffith Park!
