WORLD CUP FINAL
Spain has just won the Men's FIFA world cup after defeating Argentina in the Final. Before the game, Tom Cruise stepped out to give a speech, and Jennifer Hudson sang the national anthem. Then of course, the game. Spain dominated from the get go, but still struggled to get past the Argentinian goal keeper Emiliano Martiez, who made save after save. And at halftime the world cup put on its first ever halftime show. Madonna got things underway, followed by BTS. Then Justin Bieber took the stage, and Shakira brought the moves, wrapping up with Coldplay. Oh did I mention the muppets were there too? But back to the game shall we. Well at the end of the 90 minutes, still nobody had scored, which forced the game into extra time, where Enzo Fernandez got sent off with a red card, leaving Argentina down to 10 men. Then, it was Spains Ferran Torres who starred with the ball, scoring the goal that sealed Spain's 1-0 win over Argentina. not to mention it was also his first goal of the entire world cup season. Not a bad way to end, hey? And while it was a disappointing end for the reigning champions, it was big celebrations for Spain, making them the 2026 World Cup Champions!
F1 BELGIUM
The F1 has continued its tour of Europe with the Belgian Grand Prix. And there was a bit of chaos right out the gate, with Mercedes' George Russell having to bow out on the first lap after this prang with Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton. Meanwhile, Australia's Oscar Piastri took some damage after a bump against Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, but he did recover, landing in fifth place. In the end, it was teenage Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli who took the W, extending his championship lead.
SPACE DAY OUT
The annual Space Day Out took place in Adelaide over the weekend, and had space enthusiasts lining up to meet a very special astronaut. Around 2,000 people visited the Australian Space Discovery Centre yesterday, to learn about space discovery, but also to have a chat with Katherine Bernell-Pegg. The 2026 Australian of The Year says it was a moment like this one that helped inspire her to become an astronaut, and she's now the first to qualify under the Australian Flag. And now, Bennell-Pegg is inspiring the next generation to shoot for the stars, or whatever planet takes their fancy. The annual Space Day Out is designed to inspire kids to take on STEM subjects, and one day blast off into a STEM Career.
ROMANIAN FESTIVAL
First up, we're travelling back in time to watch an ancient Roman-era battle. No, only kidding, this is the Getodava historical reenactment festival in Romania. Where groups of history buffs gather once a year to play out battles, demonstrating old warfare tactics, as well as traditional arts and crafts, and dancing.
SWISS JUGGLING RECORD
Now, we're heading to Switzerland, where Milan here is attempting to set a new world record, for juggling! But he's making it hard for himself, because the balls are made of solid iron and weigh a combined 15 kilos, and he's juggling them at the summit of the Klein Matterhorn, nearly 4,000 metres above sea level. The high altitude means the air is thinner, there's less oxygen and less pressure, which means his body has to work harder to function properly.
