Wolverine and Morph gather up the former's old hit squad Team X, consisting of Sabretooth, Lady Deathstrike, Maverick and Garrison Kane to track down the Weapon X research facility. As they approach, their helicopter is downed by mutated birds and Kane dies in the crash. The rest of the team fend off mutated animals and reach the facility, where they find Dr. Abraham Cornelius alive, but he soon mutates into a sort of alien insect and summons swarms. The group splits off to restart the power to the facility and secure an escape. They find footage of the Brood, an alien species that were used as test subjects. The group discovers Omega Red alive in a test tube. Wolverine gets infected by the Brood and butchers Maverick, while accidentally releasing Omega Red. As the Brood is unable to survive the adamantium bonding, Morph proposes they lure Wolverine to re-bond him with adamantium and purge his DNA. They succeed in trapping Wolverine and the process begins, but Omega Red breaks in and overwhelms them, but the recovered Wolverine beats him. The group successfully escapes the facility as it incinerates the Brood.
