“Sing to God, kingdoms of the world, sing praise to the Lord,
to Him who rides in the sky, the ancient sky. Listen to Him shout with a mighty roar.” – Psalm 68:32–34
I wrote the first version of this song many years ago while reading this psalm. I was especially struck by the line, “to Him who rides the ancient skies,” which gave me a powerful sense of God’s sovereign rule over all creation.
Later in the psalm, it speaks of the nations worshiping together, which inspired me to pursue a more eclectic sound for the song. I wanted the music to reflect that global call to praise. I’m deeply grateful for the incredibly gifted people around me who helped bring these sounds to life.
