Satluj - Price of Truth: The Khallra Case That Exposed India's Darkest Decade | 2D Anime Documentary

In 1995, a courageous lawyer named Jassavant Singh Khallra
was silenced. His crime? He asked questions. His punishment?
Extrajudicial murder in police custody. For 30 years, his
story remained buried. Now, the film "Satluj" brings his truth
to the world.

📍 THE STORY:
Between 1984-1995, over 2,000 people disappeared from Punjab
without a trace. No answers. No justice. No accountability.
One man decided to document every disappearance, every victim,
every name. He compiled evidence that would shake the entire
system. His name was Jassavant Singh Khallra.

🔍 WHAT HAPPENED:
When Khallra's research became too close to the truth, the
government couldn't allow him to continue. In September 1995,
he was arrested. Days later, he was dead. Police claimed
encounter. Media stayed silent. Justice system looked away.
But his work survived.

🎬 THE FILM:
"Satluj" (Released July 3, 2026) tells the story of one man's
impossible fight against institutional evil. Starring Diljit
Dosanjh as Khallra, directed by Hani Trehan, this is not just
a film—it's a testimony. It's an indictment. It's a call for
justice that refuses to die.

⚖️ THE QUESTION:
Can cinema deliver justice where the court system failed? Can
a film resurrect a suppressed truth? Can one man's sacrifice
inspire a nation's conscience?
