I’ve been in a huge season of reflection on my privilege in this life. Something that sometimes keeps me up at night asking: why me? And what am I supposed to do with this?
I still don’t know the answer, but I do know that I am moved + mesmerized to know this is where it began. That the blood of the brave souls (something like my great great grandparents) who left this small village is literally INSIDE of me.
It’s good to feel that shii sometimes.
It’s good to sit with their unmarked graves. It’s good to sit on their church steps even though you have a witch tattoo. It’s good to be so free.
I am so lucky to be so free.
