When salmon numbers dropped perilously low in the Yukon, Carissa Waugh (@eke.ewe) started beading salmon pins. She tells her family’s story behind the artwork in the short film “Beading Atsua Ku.”
Beading is Carissa’s way of decolonizing climate conversations while healing her relationships to salmon, her ancestors and future generations.
