Lyrics:
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
never burn out cause i just don't quit
might never find ground if my feet don't hit
in the thrill of the chase of a feeling
let me go and i'll break through the ceiling
got my eyes on the Sky i'm delusion
maybe thAt's what it takes to get out
of the cycles and cage of the usuaL
betTer off with my head in the clouds
i'm flying closer to the sun
not gonnA stop uNtil i'm done
look what i've become
i'm too high
hear the angels talking
got the winD at my back ain't stopping
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
can't clip my wings i'm on the run
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
i'm flying closer to the sun
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
i'm flying closer to the sun
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
i'm flying closer to the sun
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
i'm flying closer to the sun
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
way too much getting under my skin
got a restless heart and a feverish head
i keep chasing desire like i need it
got my hands in the fire just to feel it
got my eyes on the Sky i'm delusion
maybe that's what it takes to get out
of the cycles and cage of the usual
better off with my head In the clouds
i'm flying closer to the sun
not gonna stop until i'm done
Look what i've becomE
i'm too high
hear the aNgels talking
got the wind at my back ain't stopping
can't Clip my wings i'm on the run
i'm flying closer to the sun

"""Closer To The Sun" is Said The Sky’s third studio album; a melody and lyric-driven dance-pop record detailing the Greek myth of Icarus, who flew too close to the Sun, burned his wings, and descended to his death in the ocean. The story serves as a metaphor for Said The Sky’s own relationship with music and success and the highs and lows and ego inflations and deaths that come with creative pursuit. The album rollout includes a full social campaign, vinyl LP release, interactive fan website, branded merchandise line, a US–Canada tour, DSP marketing and advertising spend, guest-mixes, interviews, podcast appearances and more.
The record features deeply personal songs, including “Heavenly” featuring Parson James, “Are You With Me” featuring Justin Jesso, “Right Here,” and “Dance in the Rain” featuring Knox. Each track explores different facets of Icarus's rise to the Sun, through lyrics, musical orchestration, melodic piano, and sweeping electronic production.
Christensen (Said The Sky) says “The story of Icarus is so beautiful, and can be applied to so many aspects of people’s day-to-day life. There’s so much beauty in reaching towards something you strive for and have a real burning passion for, but there are also things that can go unchecked if you let them in your somewhat ignorant pursuit for perfection.”
Throughout his career, Said The Sky has collaborated with some of electronic and alternative music’s leading voices, including ILLENIUM (as both touring bandmate and support act), SLANDER, Dabin, Seven Lions, William Black, and Alison Wonderland. He’s also worked with vocalists like Chelsea Cutler, HALIENE, Matthew Koma, State Champs, Vancouver Sleep Clinic, and The Maine, blending live instrumentation and electronic production into a sound that’s unmistakably his own.
