Hi Guys!
In this video I replace my old SAFE-T-ALERT CO / LP Alarm with a new RV SAFE CO / LP Alarm.
I have noticed a beeping noise coming from my trailer. Usually this means the battery maintainer either went out or is unplugged and the batteries are getting low. This time that wasn't the problem. CO detectors have a 5 year shelf life, and mine came to the end of it's life.
When trying to find the exact model to replace it, I found they are harder to find and expensive. When I checked the Keystone RV website, they said they used 2 brands. Either SAFE-T-ALERT or RV SAFE. So when I searched RV SAFE, I found they are less expensive and way easier and faster to get.
That brings us to today. I was going to replace it yesterday as it arrived Saturday. Unfortunately being on a clear liquid diet and doing the prep for a Rectal Ultrasound, I didn't feel like it. At 3am I woke up to take the second dose of prep and all I could hear from inside the house was the beeping of the dyeing CO detector in the travel trailer. For nearly an hour and a half that was the only sound I kept hearing. Needless to say when I got home I had to fix it. LOL!!!
If you have read this far, I had a colonoscopy in February. They found a large polyp that had 7mm of cancer. After blood tests, a CT with contrast, and now the ultrasound from today, things are looking good. I still need one more procedure, just as a insurance policy to make sure it doesn't become a problem in the future...
