YOSHIKI will return to Japan from Los Angeles to appear as a headliner at the global event Global Citizen LIVE: Tokyo, which will be held for the first time in Japan on Thursday, June 18 (Japan Time), at Tokyo International Forum. In conjunction with the event, a special live broadcast will air on the official streaming program YOSHIKI CHANNEL from an undisclosed location in Tokyo beginning at 10:00 PM, immediately following the performance.
The broadcast will be available on YouTube (worldwide) and Niconico Channel (Japan), with a portion of the program also to be made available publicly on YouTube.
Global Citizen LIVE: Tokyo is a major international charity event organized by the global NGO Global Citizen, which is dedicated to ending extreme poverty. Since its founding in 2008, the organization has helped secure more than $50 billion in commitments worldwide, impacting the lives of over 1.3 billion people. The event has previously featured many internationally renowned artists, including Beyoncé, Coldplay, BTS, BLACKPINK, and Rihanna.
On the program, YOSHIKI will speak about his thoughts immediately following Global Citizen LIVE: Tokyo, share stories from the recent annual gala of the Entertainment Community Fund in New York, where he became the first Japanese artist to receive the organization’s highest honor, the Medal of Honor, and discuss the thoughts and emotions behind his two classical concerts, SCARLET NIGHT and VIOLET NIGHT, to be held on July 16 and 17 at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, marking the beginning of “Chapter Two” on the world stage.
