YOSHIKI will attend the Entertainment Community Fund Medal of Honor ceremony in New York City on June 1, where he will be presented with the Medal of Honor, the highest distinction bestowed by the Entertainment Community Fund, a storied charitable organization that supports the American entertainment industry. This marks the first time a Japanese artist has received the award. In addition to attending the ceremony, YOSHIKI is also scheduled to perform at the event.
In the lead-up to the award ceremony, a special live broadcast will be streamed from a studio in Tokyo via the official streaming channel “YOSHIKI CHANNEL” starting at 7:30 PM (Japan Time) on Saturday, May 30. Joining YOSHIKI for the occasion will be investor and former Goldman Sachs executive Kei Tanaka, journalist Jun Hori, and a special guest. Together, they will hold an in-depth panel discussion centered on the theme “Competing on the World Stage — The Value of Artists in the Age of AI.”
The broadcast will be available on YouTube (worldwide) and Niconico Channel (Japan). Portions of the program are also planned to be made publicly available on YouTube.
With the Medal of Honor ceremony approaching, YOSHIKI has also been making headlines for a string of high-profile appearances. Having received a personal invitation from legendary artist Diana Ross herself, YOSHIKI made a surprise return to Japan to perform at her Tokyo concert on May 23, followed by an additional surprise performance at the Osaka concert on May 25, both to great acclaim. Looking ahead, YOSHIKI is also set to perform at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles in July 2026, continuing to expand his presence on the global stage.
The program will explore the ideas and philosophy YOSHIKI has developed through years of forging a career on the world stage, in conversation with guests at the forefront of journalism, culture, technology & AI, and next-generation society. The discussion will also take a wide-ranging look at the isolation and pressure he has faced while carving his own path internationally, as well as his ongoing pursuit of reinvention across different eras.
This program is presented as a special collaborative event between YOSHIKI CHANNEL and the social economy media platform NewsPicks. The first half will broadcast live on YOSHIKI CHANNEL, while the second half will air on NewsPicks, each featuring distinct content.
