Released on January 25, 1995, Project Blowed is the seminal self-titled compilation album that documented and defined the birth of the West Coast Underground hip-hop movement.Co-founded by Aceyalone and Abstract Rude, Project Blowed originated as an open-mic workshop in Leimert Park, Los Angeles. It served as the direct spiritual successor to the legendary Good Life Cafe open-mic scene. The 1995 album captured the collective's signature style: lightning-fast double-time flows, dense abstract lyricism, and jazz-influenced experimentation.
