Presidential historian says wait 40 years to judge presidents

C-SPAN's "America's Book Club" — Michael Beschloss, a presidential historian, gave examples on why 30 or 40 years are necessary to obtain real hindsight on a president.

"If you wrote a book about LBJ before the tapes, and then after the tapes, after you hear what he's really like in private, it's like two different human beings," he said.
