A quick look at an amazing model, the Precision Scale brass Gramps tank car.
Precision scale released this unusual line of brass locomotives and rolling stock in the late 1980s in 1/2 inch scale. At that time it was assumed that serious model is working and large scale wanted to work in 1/24 scale. Most large scale modelers were using number one gauge track, 45 mm, 1 3/4 inch gauge. Which made 1/24 sale models rather small for the track gauge. A very few serious modelers built their railroads with a one and a half inch gauge track to keep the scale and gauge correct. The precision scale cars could be fitted with either gauge trucks.
