Everyone knows that molecular solids are brittle — except, well, not this one. What’s going on? That’s exactly what chemists at the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar wanted to know, so they threw every analysis they could at a curious compound known as 3B5CBA.
They report their findings in Crystal Growth & Design in the paper “Plastic Behavior of 3-Bromo-5-chlorobenzoic Acid: Structural, Thermal, and Plastic Deformation Analysis.”
