Description
Old legends meet new ones at Le Mans 2026. Alain Favey, Emmanuel Esnault and Agnès Tesson-Faget mark 100 years since Peugeot's first participation in the race — and announce what comes next.
Peugeot celebrates its centenary at Le Mans with a parade of 20 iconic race and road cars, including the Peugeot 174S, the first model to enter the race in 1926, the Peugeot 905 — a double Le Mans winner in 1992 and 1993 — and the Peugeot 908, winner in 2009.
At the heart of the press conference, the announcement the world has been waiting for: the New Peugeot E-208 GTi. Engineered by Peugeot Sport and designed by Peugeot, the new electric hot hatch delivers best-in-class performance with 281 hp, a 5.6 kg/hp power-to-weight ratio and 0–100 km/h in 5.5 seconds. With a range of up to 375 km, 18-inch perforated wheels nodding to the 205 GTi, red accents throughout and a limited production run, this is a modern interpretation of a legend. Orders are open now from €42,900 (France).
Also announced: a new collaboration between Peugeot and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Next year, Peugeot will launch a special Le Mans edition, giving every customer the chance to be part of the legend.
A new legend is born.
