NEW YORK, October 3, 2025 — Asia Society commissioned Javanese composer and singer Peni Candra Rini to create a new score for a screening of Indonesian director Garin Nugroho’s silent film Setan Jawa, performed live by Peni Candra Rini, Andy McGraw, Shahzad Ismaily, Gusti Sudarta, and Scott Clark. The concert was part of a lively, two-night celebration of Indonesia's diverse and multifaceted cinematic and musical worlds.
