Description
The 22-million-pound, 75-year-old Commercial Street Bridge in Pittsburgh was demolished Thursday by PennDOT to make room for an updated version. The $95 million project will use accelerated bridge construction techniques to “laterally slide” the new, nearly 830-foot-long, 60-foot-high bridge into place over Commercial Street, which has been closed since June 29.
