A truly heartbreaking tale. A Tawny Owl was found dangling, lifeless from fishing wire over a pond. He had been struggling for 12 hours before rescuers were called.
Louis and Dan rushed to the scene. They acted immediately, paddling out into the pond on the Wildlife Aid rescue boat.
But the rescue was far from easy. Whilst trying to keep the boat stable, they attempted to cut the wire and catch the owl in mid-air.
Louis cut the wire…
The Tawny Owl dropped…
Dan caught him just in time!
But there was no time to celebrate as they rushed him straight back to the centre for emergency treatment…
