Built in 1905, the historic Winchester Mansion is one of Elkhart's most well-known landmarks and has earned a reputation as one of northern Indiana's most intriguing, haunted locations. Over the years, visitors and staff have reported unexplained footsteps, voices, objects moving on their own, and mysterious activity in the attic. Local legends often center around former resident Nellie Knickerbocker, whose story has become a lasting part of the mansion's paranormal history.
