Hello Games just released No Man’s Sky: The Swarm, and this is not just another small update.
This new update brings a massive community war effort, three rival Traveller teams, swarmer enemies, new combat missions, the terrifying Hive of Glass, and what may be one of the biggest space battles No Man’s Sky has ever seen.
But The Swarm is also interesting for another reason: Hello Games is turning No Man’s Sky into something more communal, more competitive, and more alive. Players are choosing sides, contributing to a shared objective, and fighting back against a galaxy-wide threat.
In this video, I break down what The Swarm update adds, why the community is reacting so strongly, what parts may matter beyond the expedition, and why this could be one of the most important No Man’s Sky updates in a long time.
No Man’s Sky is still evolving after all these years, and The Swarm might be another sign that Hello Games is far from finished.
