My oldest has expressed interest in pursuing performing arts for as long as she could walk, and the time came for her to have her first audition and she got to experience intense nerves for the first time. When I captured this, it was only because we had to submit the video, and while capturing it I unknowingly documented a journey of overcoming anxious nerves that we all deal with as children and adults. I know what it’s like dealing with intense nerves and it’s a hard thing to navigate no matter the situation, but most definitely when it is trying to control them when doing something that is new. There was no goal for this experience but to just try and learn how to navigate our emotions while running on nerves we have to get under control. She did it and it paid off, and this is a day I’ll remember forever and I’m sure she will too.
