We headed offshore for what started as a calm reef fishing trip, but it quickly turned into an unforgettable battle with huge rainbow runners, aggressive sharks, and a monster African pompano! In this Bite The Bait Fishing episode, we catch live bait, drift near the wrecks, fight fish around fired-up sharks, lose a giant, and finally land the African pompano we came for.
This video has everything: live bait fishing, shark chaos, offshore reef action, an epic African pompano fight, and a full catch and cook at home. We show the setup we used, including pinfish, bank sinkers, long leaders, and how we fished the bottom near the wreck. Then we take the fresh African pompano to the kitchen and grill it with a simple lemon, olive oil, garlic, parsley, paprika, salt, and pepper marinade.
We also try rainbow runner tataki/sashimi style with ponzu sauce as a bonus appetizer!
