This is a hot wire mass air flow sensor used in 1992 to 1995 Mercedes V8 and V12 engines. 1992 and 1993 Mercedes 300SE w140 also used hot wire sensor.
In 1996 Mercedes started using hot film type sensors in V8 and V12 engines. Mercedes used hot film sensors since 1993 in W124 inline 6 engines and started installing them into S320 W140 around 1994.
Hot wire and hot film sensors are not interchangeable.
