Description
Prosecutors have filed charges against a Tacoma man accused of chasing down and killing a man whom he found with his girlfriend at a Tacoma bar in July 2024.
According to Tacoma police, Chaston Philes, 24, turned himself in on Monday after being notified that prosecutors were moving forward with charges against him.
Philes cooperated with police on the night of the shooting and was released after being questioned.
Prosecutors say the delay in charging the case was a result of backlogs at the Washington State Patrol's ballistics lab. At a first appearance hearing Tuesday, a judge set Philes' bail at $100,000.
