This video is not intended as a full tutorial. If you are a beginner, I recommend that you try a recipe without milks, color, or scent for the first time. It's important to learn the property of the oils and why we use them. Check out Bramble Berry/Anne-Marie Faiola and The Nerdy Farmwife for educational soapmaking books.

Sample Soap Recipe:
48% Olive Oil - Costco
20% Coconut Oil - Wholesale Supplies Plus
12% Castor Oil - Wholesale Supplies Plus
8% Mango Butter - Wholesale Supplies Plus
4% Shea Butter - Wholesale Supplies Plus
4% Kokum Butter - Shay & Co
4% Apricot Kernel Oil - Natural Bulk Supplies

6% Super Fat

32% Lye Concentration - Duda Diesel/Belle Chemical

2% Sodium Lactate (Based off of oil weight) - Natural Bulk Supplies
2% Coconut Milk (based off oil weight) - Native Forest Organics - Simple

I subtracted the coconut milk and sodium lactate amounts from the water portion. That way we aren’t adding in the extra liquid and making a soft batch.

⚠️ Disclaimer:
This video is for educational and entertainment purposes only. Soapmaking, especially with sodium hydroxide (lye), involves chemical reactions that must be done with proper safety precautions. Always wear protective gear (gloves, goggles, long sleeves, closed toe shoes), work in a well-ventilated area, and follow all safety guidelines when handling lye. By attempting this recipe, you assume full responsibility for your safety and the outcome of your project.
