It's not the cards. It was never the cards.
The Tarot is just paper with really beautiful artwork on it. That's it. Any magic it has, any power you feel when you sit with it, that's coming from you, not the cards.
So when someone tells me the Tarot scares them, or that it feels "too dark" or "not for them," I always want to ask the real question underneath it. What are you actually afraid of seeing?
Because the Tarot is a mirror. And sometimes it's not the mirror we're scared of. It's what's already staring back at us.
