Although many Muslims exchange it with good intentions, there is no authentic evidence that the Prophet ﷺ, his Companions, or the early generations used this greeting or singled out Friday with this specific congratulation.
In matters of worship, sincerity alone is not enough—we must also follow the Sunnah. True love for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is demonstrated by adhering to his guidance, not by introducing practices he never taught.
May Allah grant us the ability to revive the Sunnah and protect us from innovations in the religion.
